QUNDIS launches the smoke alarm of the future:
The new generation of QUNDIS smoke alarms – Q smoke 5.5 − will be available from the start of 2017. An integrated radio module enables remote monitoring of the status of the device. A further important feature of this smoke alarm is the independent ‘Q’ seal of approval, representing exceptional reliability and safety.

Secretary of State Iris Gleicke praises Erfurt producer of metering devices as a model
In the course of her visit to QUNDIS GmbH Iris Gleicke, Secretary of State for Industry in the new Federal States, repeated her call for the removal of obstacles to growth to mid-sized companies. In this context she referred to her dialogue campaign promoting company growth («Unternehmen :wachsen»), in which interested parties from the economy and business circles can participate until the end of August. This morning she exchanged important ideas on the implementation of digitalisation in conversation with the management of QUNDIS.


In line with its «Tradition of innovation» company slogan, on 23 June 2016 QUNDIS GmbH celebrated its 25th anniversary at its HQ in Erfurt together with partners, customers and friends, as well as representatives from the worlds of business and politics. Among the keynote speakers were Carsten Schneider, member of the Bundestag and Deputy Chairman of the SPD parliamentary party, Thuringia’s Minister of Economics Wolfgang Tiefensee and Mayor of Erfurt Andreas Bausewein, while former ESA astronaut Prof. Ulrich Walter took the anniversary guests on a tour of the cosmos.

By providing electronic water meters and accessories QUNDIS has, since June 2016, been supporting the construction of a test station for domestic water installations for the training of students at the Faculty of Building Services Technology at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences. The equipment was handed over in the presence of Prof. Cornelia König, lecturer in the Faculty of Building Services and Supply Technology at the university, and our product manager Tobias Helf.

In the course of the extension of the company’s management, Dieter Berndt has been appointed chairman of the management board (CEO). He will be passing on his responsibilities as CFO to a new colleague. As COO and CTO Thomas Röhrl, who has signed a long-term extension to his contract, will continue to be responsible for the fields of development, production and Quality.

On Thursday evening QUNDIS provided a look behind the scenes at its cutting-edge, fully networked production facility in Erfurt. Around 30 representatives of Thuringian companies were invited as guests and took part in the discussion on Industry 4.0.

50 trees, 30 children – that’s the result of the first Plant-for-the-Planet Children’s Academy in cooperation with QUNDIS and the city of Erfurt last Saturday.

Support for the “Plant-for-the-Planet” initiative and its Children’s Academy on 16 April
QUNDIS GmbH has now extended its sustainability strategy by providing support for the Plant-for-the-Planet initiative. On 16 April 2016 QUNDIS will be organising the first Plant-for-the-Planet Children’s Academy in cooperation with the city of Erfurt.

Since Thursday, 3 December 2015, CEO Thomas Röhrl has represented QUNDIS GmbH as a permanent member of the Energy Commission of Germany’s Federation of Mid-sized Companies (Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft, Unternehmerverband Deutschlands e. V. — BVMW).

QUNDIS has now received the European Union’s seal of approval for certified environmental management (EMAS), placing it among pioneering companies in the field of sustainability. EMAS certification, which represents the highest recognition for corporate environmental protection, was awarded by the Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry after an extensive auditing process.

It was during the H’Expo exhibition organised by the «Union sociale pour l’habitat» held in Montpellier from September 22 to 24, 2015 that Qundis and Suez Smart Building Division jointly presented to social housing associations a new generation of Qundis Q caloric 5.5 heat cost allocators, which are specially adapted to the Suez Smart Building specifications.

At QUNDIS HQ in Erfurt QUNDIS strengthens its strategic partnership with the Technical University of Ilmenau. The agreement confirms the existing project-based cooperation between QUNDIS and the faculty of high-frequency and microwave technology (HMT) at TU Ilmenau, and lays the foundation stone for further joint projects.

Ehningen/Erfurt — March 17, 2015: The German SME QUNDIS developed a measurement system for the way data is collected from energy consumption. QUNDIS chose IBM Softlayer cloud center in Frankfurt to support the billing and monitoring of heat and water consumption. On the central platform, customers such as metering service providers have transparency in managing energy consumption. Additionally, QUNDIS plans to develop mobile apps via IBM’s Bluemix, so that home owners can access current consumption data through a portal or manage their heating on their smart devices.

QUNDIS, the Erfurt-based leading manufacturer of measuring devices and the University of Maribor in Slovenia’s second-largest city today (8.12.) signed a contract covering cooperation in the fields of research and development. The aim of the cooperation is the further development of wireless data transmission in measuring and recording the consumption of heating and water in private households and commercial premises. The QUNDIS Group has recently acquired WECONIS, an innovative Slovenian hardware and software company.
